Georgia wins 42-30

As expected in the last post Georgia goes on to win the Florida-Georgia game 42-30.

Florida loses ball, possibly game to GA

A bad snap late in the fourth quarter is recovered by Georgia's Dannell Ellerbe. Tim Tebow took another shot into his bruised right shoulder fighting for the ball. With 1:30 remaining this game looks to be Georgia's win.

Moreno increases lead to 12

Knowshon Moreno comes up with another score against the Gators' bringing the score now to 42-30. With that score Moreno goes to 178-yards on the day.

Georgia is looking promising now to win only their third Florida-Georgia game since 1990. Florida is very capable of making a comeback but with Tim Tebow not at his best with his bruised right shoulder their hopes are quickly diminishing.

Tebow scores second rushing TD

Tim Tebow rushes for his second touchdown of the day, bruised shoulder and all. After the touchdown rush, Florida tries for the two-point conversion looking to bring them within three of Georgia. The conversion fails leaving Florida down five 35-30.

Georga adds to lead

A failed fourth down attempt by Florida led to a Georgia touchdown in the fourth quarter. Matthew Stafford comes up with a big play for the Bulldogs' offense as he throws a deep ball to Mikey Henderson for a touchdown putting Georgia up by 11, 35-24.

Florida may have an answer to that though as Brandon James' returns the kickoff 51-yards.

Tebow sacked for 5th time

Tebow was just sacked for the fifth time of the day, this time by Marcus Howard. According to the tv commentators that fifth sack equals them amount of times Tebow had been downed behind the line of scrimmage over the past seven games.

Two more scores, Georgia still leads

Two more scores in the third quarter bring the score to . First on Georgia's first possession of the half Matthew Stafford throws a 1-yard pass to Brannan Southerland for a 1-yard touchdown bringing the score the 28-17.

The next drive, QB Tim Tebow gets back into the game with some rushing as Tebow scores on a 2-yard touchdown run. That run brings the score to 28-24.

Georgia leads at the half

A game that usually is a guaranteed Florida win has been a back and forth game of scoring between the Gators and Bulldogs.

Over 100-yards of penalties stand out in the first half stats as unsportsmanlike conduct calls for excessive celebration have been a mainstay throughout the game.

A late Georgia touchdown in the 2nd quarter gives Georgia the lead going into halftime 21-17.

Give your first half comments, rants and raves in the comments section below.

Florida takes first lead

A 43-yard field goal by Florida's Joey Ijjas after a 7 play, 35-yard drive gives Florida their first lead of the day, 17-14. Sorry to disappoint but no unsportsmanlike penalty on that field goal though.

Gators' punt leads to Gators' TD

Florida punts to start the second half and places the punt perfectly at the Georgia one-yard line. Georgia QB Mathew Stafford threw his first pass from scrimmage into the air right into the hands of the awaiting Wondy Pierre-Louis who takes it back for a touchdown.

Think the penalties are ending now? Nope, another touchdown and another unsportsmanlike conduct call. Florida and Georgia are tied again at 14.

Total penalties?

How many total penalties will be assessed during today's game? With 3:00 remaining in the first quarter there have already been six penalties in the game including two 30-yard penalties at once against Georgia.

Leave how many you think there will be total for the game in the comments below.

Scoring continues

If anyone here in Jacksonville took the Sawgrass Marriott up on their offer of a room for the rate of the score total you may be wanting to reconsider if the game keeps going at this rate. After a big Florida touchdown pass, Georgia takes their second play from scrimmage for a 84-yard touchdown pass to Mohamed Massaquoi.

And add another unsportsmanlike conduct call for Massaquoi's celebration after the TD.

Florida answers

Georgia celebrated their outright lead but Florida answers quickly with a quick drive as well. 3 plays, capped off by a 40-yard touchdown pass from Tim Tebow to Louis Murphy. No unsportsmanlike conduct calls after that TD though. The game is tied up at 7 now with 4:39 left in the first quarter.

Georgia scores 7, loses 30-yards

The fumble mentioned in my last post allowed for a quick Georgia touchdown after 9 plays and 39-yards. Knowshon Moreno jumped over the pile to cross the plane.

You can tell there is heart and excitement in this year's game. After that touchdown Georgia gave new meaning to excessive celebration. The entire Georgia bench ran on the field to celebrate the touchdown causing two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties equaling 30-yards to be enforced on the kickoff.

Then after the extra point attempt the Florida bench decided to get psyched up and started riling each other up on the bench.

Florida fumbles first possession

Not more than five minutes into the game, Georgia's Roderick Battle forces a fumble on Florida's first possession of the game. CB Asher Allen recovered giving Georgia great field position to start their first possession.
